A New Adventure

This is long overdue but I want to record and share what has happened in our lives in the past few months.  Pretty much ever since we graduated from BYU, we had been talking, praying and planning for Robby to go back to school and get an MBA. We thought about a few different places but we both really knew that BYU was the place. After a long process of learning about the program, studying and taking the GMAT, applying, interviewing...he made it! This is his 'signing day' picture...

This was so exciting for us but also bittersweet because of the memories, jobs and friends we had in Arizona. We both knew that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity so we decided to say goodbye.  We finished up our jobs in August...

I took this picture of my office on my last day. Bittersweet!

We had one last trip to the Gilbert Temple where we spent our Saturdays in January/February helping at the open house. We sure love this beautiful place!

We packed up our apartment, spending one last sweaty summer evening in the desert heat loading the truck...

...and drove away! We spent a day in Las Vegas with the Boyles before we continued on our journey to Provo.

We were so happy to finally arrive. We love our new home and have settled into MBA life. Robby had very little time before he had to get started with orientation. This is the 1st day of school picture!

Robby had about 2 weeks of orientation, a rafting trip in Idaho with classmates and recruiters and then school started after Labor Day.  School has been intense but on top of that he is going through the recruiting process for his summer internship. He traveled to the Bay Area to tour a bunch of tech companies and has been busy preparing for interviews, interviewing and networking. We can't wait to have a place to land for the summer.

In Robby's limited free time, we have had a lot of fun together.

We visited the Ogden Temple Open House

We enjoyed those lovely Utah summer nights!

Lots of MBA functions, networking events, dinners, etc...

 BYU Football!
Autumn is so beautiful here!
Walks in Provo Canyon
It's scary how much we missed Burgers Supreme and real fry sauce...
Lots of evening and morning bike rides
Hiking the Y

We went to Conference and spent the weekend with our first guests, 4/8 of my family :) (We missed you Megan and Andy!)
We had a blast at Disneyland with the Boyle's for Halloween
I met Megan, Andy and Emily in Rexburg for a fun weekend

We re-created our first date to Nickelcade in honor of being together for 6 years in October.

We are having so much fun in Provo and enjoying this crazy time together. We have made fun memories together, with family and friends (old and new). Now we are going to try to survive winter...our first real one in a few years. Wish us luck!!

Shortest Graduation Trip Ever!

In April, Danielle graduated from BYU - Hawaii! With our jobs, especially since I had just started a new one, we were only able to go for the weekend. We left AZ Friday morning and came home Sunday afternoon. It was quick, but wonderful! We enjoyed catching up with all who were able to make it.

Can you tell that they are siblings?

We had one cloudy beach afternoon.

Of course we had to eat my favorite coconut shrimp from Kahuku Grill. If you're ever at the North Shore of Oahu - go there!

Birthday Celebrations

With Robby's birthday in March and mine in June, spring is a fun birthday time for us!

For Robby's birthday we ate dinner at Joe's BBQ and then he picked Costco's red velvet cake for his birthday dessert.

I bought him tickets to a Phoenix Coyotes hockey game in April and we had a blast!

We can't wait to go see the Coyote's play again someday!

For my birthday I took the day off work because no one should have to work on their birthday, but having a 4 -day work week helps too.  Robby and I went to Liberty Market for lunch with our friends the Hartley's, since Eric and I share the same birthday. After lunch,  Robby took me birthday shopping and we finished the day with dinner and a movie!

Robby thought it would be fun to give me my birthday money in a big stack of $1 bills.  What a goofball! I felt so silly counting out all my $1's as I made my purchases - but it was fun.

Us at birthday lunch! It was so hot that day.

Thanks everyone for the fun birthday gifts!
