Hawaii Part 3

Last but not least...

*On Friday we hiked to beautiful Moana Falls. Such a fun hike!

It was so wet and muddy. The trail was absolutely covered in puddles. Luckily there was a hose at the bottom to rinse off our shoes.

*After our hike, we went up to the North Shore, picked up Danielle and went to the beautiful Laie Temple grounds. So gorgeous.  After the temple, we went to the beach for a few hours. Then we went to Haliwa for Mexican food and ice cream.

*On our last morning, we picked up some egg mcmuffin's and ate them at the beach before heading to the airport.

What a wonderful vacation. Here's to next time Hawaii!

Hawaii Part 2

Our trip continues...

*On September 11 we went to Pearl Harbor. It is such a reverent, beautiful place! It was very humbling to be there on 9/11.

Oil still floats to the surface of the water, even after all these years!

*After Pearl Harbor we headed back up to the North Shore, stopping for shave ice - so tasty!

 * Then we went to Waimea Bay park for a few hours of reading and laying by the beach.

After our afternoon at the beach, we picked Danielle up from class and drove to Turtle Bay for dinner.  My best meal of the trip occurred here... Crab Stuffed Salmon.

*On Wednesday we hiked Diamond Head. It was challenging and beautiful.  Such a fun hike with some beautiful views at the top.

 It was windy up there!

 Beautiful views of Waikiki

Here is the Diamond Head Crater

This is just one of many steep staircases this hike requires.
Too bad we took the picture after we were hot, sweaty and tired...

*We went to Boots and Kimo's again for more Macadamia Nut Pancakes and drove up to the North Shore. We picked up Danielle and went to the beach!

My half-eaten #1 fish tacos...so tasty! This fun restaurant was the Hawaiian Cafe Rio.

*After dinner, Danielle took us to this awesome lookout point in Laie. So beautiful. I never get tired of looking out at the ocean!

*On Thursday we woke up and went over to watch some golf! The Champions Tour was going on so we went as spectators.  Robby was loving every minute of it :)
Unfortunately, this is the only picture we took that day.  We went to the Ala Moana shopping center for lunch and a little shopping. Thursday was pretty relaxed.
