* When we arrived (after some hotel drama) we headed up to the North Shore with the Boyle's. They took us to Kahuku Grill for some amazing coconut shrimp. We had it again a few days later...it was so good!
* We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center to see Ha: Breath of Life. There was dancing, singing, fire dancers...it was amazing!
*The International Market Place was right next to our hotel. Lots of fun people watching!
*We woke up on Sunday and took a walk on the beach. What a great way to start the day!
*Boots and Kimo's for macadamia nut pancakes. They were so delicious we went back a few days later!
*We went to the beautiful Pali lookout. It was so green and beautiful!
*Up next was the very touristy Dole Plantation for a train ride and delicious treats!
Look at the cute little pineapple growing!
There were so many pineapple fields!
Dole Whips were absolutely necessary and delicious!
*Then we went to the North Shore to look for turtles!
Unfortunately, the turtles were being shy. There were 2 that were swimming in front of us us. They are the dark spots in the middle of the picture.
* Up next: Giovanni's shrimp truck. There is writing and graffiti all over it!
Garlic and lemon butter shrimp plates. These were drippy, juicy and delicious!
Here is the trough that you clean up in after. We were certainly plenty messy.
* On day 3 of our trip, we were still having hotel drama. After spending
the morning at the beach we finally got the drama taken care of and we
were so happy to be moving to the right room!
* We walked over to Rainbow Drive In, which has been featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives - it was just okay.
Not pictured here was the glorious afternoon we spent lounging by the pool.
* For dinner we walked over to the International Market Place for another Food Network place: Hank's Haute Dogs.
I know this picture looks gross but my hot dog had delicious pineapple salsa on it. So good!
Stay tuned for part 2!
